OPENING NIGHT FRIDAY JANUARY 27th, 7:30

The boys are back after a one year hiatus.

Conor  McPherson also wrote “The Weir”, “Shining City” and “The Seafarer” which was nominated for a Tony for best play.  A modern Irish master storyteller he always delves into the mystical and the ineffable within the everyday.  His plays stay with you for a longtime.

The play features the stage debut of Max McNamara (Michael's son) playing the role of Kevin (a young man living outside his parent’s home for the first time with two alcohol-pickled men and a wry woman).

Max, a graduate of GHS who moved to Austin, Texas after graduating from UVM was a featured actor in Richard Linklater’s Golden Globe winning film, Boyhood

Back in Gloucester he just completed a featured role in the upcoming Screen Gems film, Cadaver (due out this summer).

Rory O’Conner plays Dermot the comic center of the play with his usual charisma and panache. Who but a great character to play a great char-actor?!

Rory made his stage debut for the Fishtown Players in McPherson’s, The Weir followed by a riveting turn as Sharkey in McPherson’s , The Seafarer. Other roles: Coleman in Martin McDonough’s, The Lonesome West and Heno in Jimmy Murphy’s, Brothers of the Brush.

Michael McNamara has been acting on area stages for over 40 years. For Fishtown Players he produced all of their shows and was a featured actor in most of them. In November of 2015 he was seen as Willie Loman in Death of a Salesman for the Mugford Street Players, (Marblehead) John Fogle directing.

Mr. Jay DiPrimais an actor, director, writer and producer who holds a doctorate in Educational Theatre from NYU and is a visiting assistant professor in drama education at Endicott College and Fitchburg State university. For Fishtown he has acted and directed in Conor McPherson’s, TheSeafarer,  and featured as an actor in The Lonesome West and The Savannah Disputations.
